This is not what a Haynes Repair Manual used to be. Maybe it's because cars/trucks are just too complicated now and there's too much new stuff to figure out and detail, but on first opening this book to the index I did not find anything I was looking for. A further detailed scouring of the chapters didn't impress me a whole lot either. It just seems way short of what I expected a Haynes manual to be, based on owning a dozen or so of them in the past,Maybe it's because (as at least one other reviewer said) this mostly covers 2002-2005, not much of anything relative to 2006-2008. I have a 2007. For example, forget trying to get wiring detail on anything above the basic model, and mostly just for the earlier years. This "Repair Manual" is almost useless to me. It doesn't even cover the basics well (too often you only get 2-3 lines of info, one or two short sentences), and some things are missing completely. Before I discovered Haynes I used Chilton's a lot, and those manuals got me through a lot of complicated repairs. Maybe I need to "rediscover" Chilton's in regard to my 2007 Ram 1500 Quad Cab.

I'm a weekend/shade tree mechanic. I'm far from an expert, however do most of my own vehicle maintenance and repairs when I have the time. I always buy a Hayes manual with each vehicle I buy, because these books are really helpful. They come with a nice conversion chart and generic trouble shooting guide for the novice. The first chapter give a nice list of routine maintenance list, also with all the product information(oil weight, spark plug part numbers, various fluid types, torque specifications, etc) The book will show you everything from changing your oil to replacing the camshaft. Excellent book for beginners, offers much more helpful information than the owner's manual that came inside the glovebox. While the books offers a lot of details, it falls short in some areas, such as details on the electrical system. For the experienced mechanic, it may not offer a lot of help, but for the beginners, it's a must have.

I have Purchased a Haynes manual for every vehicle I have ever owned. the Manuals are easy to read and understand. I'm what you call a do-it-yourselfer but not a professional by any means. I have used this manual to change my rotors, brakes, calipers with ease. I have also recently replaced front and rear shocks. I also used the wiring schematics to trouble shoot my trailer lights. My son has used his Haynes manual to learn more about his car as well. these are very well written and useful for any home shop.

does not cover the 2006,2007,2008 dodges

It's no factory shop manual but it's good and cheap. Made the mistake of buying both a Chilton and Haynes. They are almost word for word and picture for picture. I think they just put different covers on them at the same printer. Gotta have one, just buy whatever is cheapest or easiest

a lot of info in this book and was definitely helpful however the how too can sometimes have you searching around in the book. in my opinion the chilton manuals layout are easier to read and identify find information but they generally cost more so this is good but you may like chiltons better.

It’s like having a smart buddy to help you, but it doesn’t speak! Perfect deal! Trucks are always breaking, having this has already saved me a ton of time and frustration

A great manual for figuring things out. These listings ALWAYS leave steps/parts out, but they are critical launching pads for my projects.
